Alberta Advanced Education (AE) is responsible for providing an adult learning system that provides accessible, affordable and high-quality education and training for Albertans.

 

The Program Innovation Branch is responsible for collaborating with other ministries on meeting workforce needs; post-secondary program approval functions; and leading the Campus Alberta Quality Council Secretariat.

Role

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Program Planning and Student Aid Division, the Executive Director of Program Innovation Branch is responsible for providing leadership, support and strategic direction on key innovation initiatives in the post-secondary system and the ministry.

 

The Executive Director supports executive leadership for the department and leads a team of directors, managers, professionals and administrative support. The position is accountable for designing and implementing strategy for AE's workforce planning, program approval, and the Campus Alberta Quality Council secretariat. In addition, the role will be managing all branch operations and resources to deliver the outcomes associated with division, ministry and Government mandates and strategies.

 

 

Qualifications

As the successful candidate, you have significant experience in a senior leadership role. You bring strengths in program implementation and/or project management, as well as stakeholder management in a government or academic setting. Your knowledge of post-secondary systems and relevant legislation and regulations will be advantageous in this role, as will experience working in a post-secondary institution.

 

You will demonstrate exceptional collaboration with internal and external stakeholder groups, a sophisticated ability to influence, and well-honed political acumen to address sensitive issues.

 

As a leader, you have demonstrated experience supporting and developing teams and inspiring a culture of change, innovation and service.

 

A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. A master’s degree in political science, business administration or public policy would be considered an asset.

 

 

Salary

$5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 to $202,256.21 annually)
