Role
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Economic Development is seeking a motivated and skilled Equipment Operator to assist in maintaining and delivering equipment for the Waster Pumping Program.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
- Delivery and allocation of water pumping equipment throughout the Province
- Perform Field inspections of pipe
- Identify and relate concerns (equipment or people) to the supervisor
- Maintain and organize equipment provided in the storage area
- Follow provincial vehicle safety standard requirements
- Trailer repairs to meet vehicle safety standards
- Wiring of trailers and repair/ maintenance of trailer suspensions, axles, brakes and tires to meet highway safety standards
Qualifications
Some high school education plus one year experience in the operation of preventative maintenance and routine servicing of medium industrial/agricultural equipment related to the position assignment and/or experience with driving and towing with medium transport vehicles; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of education on a one-for-one basis.
A valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brakes (Q-endorsement) is required.

Salary
$26.89 to $27.80 per hour
Notes
This role is a temporary, casual position expected to run for six (6) months:
- Work hours vary from 0 – 40 hours per week depending on the current workload, with no minimum hours guaranteed for this position.
- Extensive travel will be required
