Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Cloud Platform Services, the Manager for IAM & Web Hosting Services is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the delivery and management of Government of Alberta (GoA) wide Web Hosting and Identity Access Management (IAM) services. This position ensures the alignment of technical solutions with business needs, maintaining high service integrity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery Excellence:

  • Collaborate with IMT resources and business units to align IT services with client needs and priorities.
  • Develop and sustain IT procedures, tools, and documentation to ensure high service availability and integrity.
  • Stay updated with advancements in web hosting and IAM technologies to drive innovative solutions


Operational Management and Compliance:

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to IMT policies, industry best practices, and audit requirements.
  • Guide the team in implementing changes with robust incident, problem, and change management frameworks.
  • Maintain operational excellence through strategic direction, developing business cases, and ensuring security compliance.


Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, ensuring effective coordination and achievement of objectives.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of web hosting and IAM services


Strategic Implementation:

  • Manage the implementation and continuous improvement of IAM and Web Hosting services, ensuring alignment with governance standards.
  • Coordinate with GoA stakeholders for effective remediation activities and audit compliance.
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring timely progress and alignment with strategic goals.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • University Degree in Computer Sciences, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4y of progressively responsible related experience in supporting a broad range of enterprise functions.
    • Experience in supporting Web Hosting and Identity & Access Management infrastructure and/or cloud platform experience.
    • Experience in team development and project management.


Equivalency: 
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education. 


Assets:

  • Technical Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of the technical landscape, including interconnectivity among systems. Proficiency in managing service implementations involving software, hardware, and cloud components is essential.
  • Legal and Compliance Insight: An adept understanding of licensing agreements and the capacity to interpret legal documents.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of effectively engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Standards Adherence: Experience in aligning with cross-government ICT standards and formulating documented protocols and procedures that adhere to industry best practices, particularly in technology deployment and security compliance.
  • Service Management Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in the creation, deployment, and management of new IMT services is essential.
  • Technical Design and Operations: Profound knowledge in business analysis, technical design, implementation, operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordinating between IMT systems.
  • ITIL Foundation certification

This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely.
