The Digital Design and Delivery (DDD) division within the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (TI) leads the development of the next generation of digital public services for the GoA. DDD partners with other departments to deliver products, platforms and services that are better, faster, and easier, through modern user-centered agile processes. DDD offers potential candidates a unique opportunity to work on meaningful challenges that transform government and positively impact Albertans.  

 

The Platforms branch within DDD is accountable for supporting ministry programs through the planning, development, delivery and operations of user-centered common platform services. The branch builds and develops common platforms and data services that enable product teams to deliver working software that meets the needs of their users.

 

 

Role Responsibilities

The Platforms branch is looking for a Manager, Product Operations. This position reports to the Director, Platforms Operations.

 

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Overseeing the onboarding, change management, and business relationship management aspects of Platforms products and services.
  • Delivering onboarding programs for all Platforms' products and services (e.g., Alberta.ca Account, MyAlberta eServices).
  • Delivering change management programs for all Platforms' products and services.
  • Providing oversight to and liaising with the Alberta.ca Account Contact Centre to improve Platforms' products and services user experience.
  • Developing monitoring reports to measure the performance of Platforms' products and services over time.
  • Identifying and engaging with potential future stakeholders who may benefit from Platforms' products and services, or who may offer benefits to current stakeholders should they be integrated.
  • Participating in leading the unit / branch to achieve goals in line with department and government priorities and stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University degree in a related field such as Information Technology, Public Administration, Business, or Arts plus a minimum of four (4) years of related progressively responsible experience.
  • Experience with change management and project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring staff.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).


Equivalencies:

  • A related two-year diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; or
  • A related one-year certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; or
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.


Assets:

  • Change Management Professional or Project Management Professional designation.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence.
  • Service design experience.

Notes

Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-time position 

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday

Location: Remote across Alberta

This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely.
