Role Responsibilities

Are you ready to help shape the next generation of Collaboration and Content Services (CCS) for the Government of Alberta? In this role, you’ll be at the center of Alberta’s digital transformation, where innovation meets impact.

Reporting to the CCS Managers and the Team Lead IMT Business Analyst, in this position you will support the business needs for the enterprise deliverables related to Collaboration and Content Management services (CCS).
CCS services within the scope of this role are: HUBs, Content Management, Content Transfer Services, Scanning, Workflow, and multiple Collaboration platforms both on premise, and in the cloud. 
These services primarily support internal Government of Alberta staff across all ministries, while also serving external stakeholders and Albertans. They provide secure, 24/7 access to hundreds of millions of records throughout their lifecycle, from public documents to highly confidential data, integrating with multiple GoA applications and enabling authorized content publishing across internal and external environments.

In this position you will collaborates with IT business analysts, Information Management Analysts, ATIA/Privacy Litigation, and Security specialists to meet ministry client needs in a way that meets GoA policies, guidelines, and standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in applying Information Management (IMT) policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with industry best practices across multiple systems and platforms.  
  • Hands-on experience with Electronic Content Management (ECM), digital preservation, metadata requirements, and applying IT principles to support these functions.
  • Practical experience in electronic record taxonomy, controlled vocabulary, retention and disposition schedules, record transfer processes, and application integration with ECM platforms and associated technologies.

Equivalencies: Equivalencies are considered:  

  • A related two-year diploma in related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and Four (4) years related experience; or
  • A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and five (5) years of related experience; or
  • 6 years of directly related experience.

Assets:

  • Strong understanding of business plans, mandates, strategic priorities, objectives, and programs within TSO.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate the impact of policy and technology changes on service delivery.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and facilitating workshops.
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365 Platform, ITIL, Scrum Master, or related fields.
  • Business Analysis Certification and/or FOIP Designation.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies.
  • Project management experience with a solid understanding of methodologies and best practices.
  • Business analysis experience combined with a strong, analysis-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adopt emerging AI technologies, ensuring the CCS team remains at the forefront of innovation.
