Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 24/7 nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities including those who are medically fragile or have complex health needs. Working within provincial protocols and facility standards, the RN plays a key role in monitoring resident health, administering treatments and medications, coordinating medical clinics, and maintaining clinical documentation and medical supplies. The position promotes safe, person-centered care in a highly specialized environment.

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing preventative, acute and chronic care by conducting routine assessments, monitoring wellness indicators, supporting medical screenings and responding to emergencies. Duties include implementing care plans, documenting clinical findings, performing venipuncture and specimen collection and supporting residents through acute episodes as well as long-term conditions. The role also involves collaborating with physicians, families, Home Support Workers and multidisciplinary teams; training staff on clinical procedures; participating in internal committees and reviews; and helping maintain quality standards and essential medical equipment.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma related to the position assignment. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act.

Notes

  • Hours of work are 38.75 hours weekly.  
  • Must be currently registered and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and have clearly stated this within your cover letter and resume. 
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR. 
  • Must be able to do shift rotation, including weekends and holidays.  
  • Location is Michener, Red Deer Alberta.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. A current work visa is required.
