Role
Do you have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills paired with exceptional attention to detail? Do you thrive in a fast paced, challenging position, and take pride in your accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines, then Peace River Correctional Centre has an opportunity for you.
In this role, you will also be responsible for the interpretation of criminal legal documents and the accurate data entry into the Offender Records and Correctional Administration (ORCA) data base. You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of offender/inmate legal files. Relying on your coordination abilities, you will liaise with court clerks, crown prosecutors, RCMP, and other enforcement agencies to clarify court documents and coordinate offender/inmate court appearances. You will respond to internal and external inquiries related to department policy and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) legislation and regulations. A keen eye for detail coupled with accurate and fast typing skills is essential to this position.
Please note shift work is a requirement.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma with at least three years of related administrative experience. Experience within the legal field is an asset. Proficiency with word, excel, outlook and database systems is an asset. Equivalencies will be considered on a one for one basis.

Salary
$1,861.71 to $2,279.37 bi-weekly ($48,590 to $59,491 per year)
Notes
This completion will be used to fill a permanent full time position. There is no public transportation to the Centre, so reliable private transportation is required. Shifts range from 8:15am to 4:30pm and 9:45am to 6:00pm. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
Final candidates for this position will be required to provide a Fingerprint Based Criminal Record Check (also called a Certified Criminal Records Check). Due to wait times to receive a completed Fingerprint Based Criminal Record Check, applicants that are invited for an interview are encouraged to request this check from their local RCMP/Police detachment prior to their interview.
