Classification and Salary:
Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) - Park Maintenance Worker:
Based on 40 hours per week: $20.14 - $24.22 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 3 (MSW3) - Park Maintenance Crew Lead:
Based on 40 hours per week: $24.68 - $30.16 per hour
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays.
• $2.75 per hour for evenings.

Role Responsibilities
If you enjoy working outside and are committed to improving a visitor’s experience when visitors come to visit a provincial park and want to help promote customer service in the parks by maintaining clean facilities and campgrounds, come join our Maintenance Team at Miquelon Lake Provincial Park.
We are looking for highly motivated, well-organized, responsible Park Maintenance Workers for the 2025 summer season. Individuals will be part of a team accountable for providing regular maintenance and operational duties that support the day-to-day operation of campgrounds, day use areas, facilities and trail systems.
We are currently looking to hire:
• 1 Park Maintenance Crew Lead
• 6 Park Maintenance Worker
As a Park Maintenance Service Worker (MSW1), duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Performing landscaping, building cleaning and site servicing of campgrounds, day use areas and facilities.
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
• Conducting water testing for small water systems.
• Operating equipment such as mowers, trimmers, ATVs, skid steers, etc.
• Assisting with trail maintenance, beach and dock maintenance.
• Installing and maintaining signage.
• Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
• Assists with hazard tree management and invasive plant management programs.
• Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols; and with the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
• Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses.
As the Park Maintenance Crew Lead (MSW3), primary duties include assisting with and performing (MSW1) duties in addition to some front-line administrative and supervisory tasks such as:
• Onsite lead for a crew of MSW staff; being accountable for direct site operations and provides input for task scheduling for other staff.
• Leads trail crew where applicable.
• Assisting with formal inspections, maintenance and servicing of equipment.
• Assists with day-to-day operations of water treatment plant and distribution system.
• Conducts purchasing and orders supply inventory within budget.
• Assisting with staff training and staff performance reviews.
• Support the operation of various utility systems in accordance with standards and regulations to ensure safe provision of drinking water and waste water removal/treatment.
• Assisting with service contract management.
All positions will require you to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, up to 40 hours per week. Maintenance staff must be able to perform physical duties outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Park Maintenance Worker – Maintenance Service Worker 1
• Some high school education or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education.
Park Maintenance Crew Lead – Maintenance Service Worker 3
• Some high school education or related training, plus two years of related experience or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education and some supervision experience.
Additional Assets to be successful in either role:
• Experience with hand and power tools; good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment.
• Experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions.
• Chainsaw certification.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaints.
• Experience working within a campground setting.

Notes
Terms of Employment:
For the Park Maintenance Worker 1 role: (up to 6 positions)
• Mid-April start date to September/mid-October end date.
For the Park Maintenance Crew Lead role: (1 position)
• Mid- April start date to late October end date.
For all positions:
• Access to reliable transportation to and from place of work.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent will be required.
• Final candidates will be required to provide a standard 3-year Driver's Abstract prior to commencement. Depending on location, may require a 5-year Commercial Driver's Abstract.
• Prior to hire, a recognized current intermediate Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate is needed.
• Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy; all personal protective equipment is provided. Certified Safety footwear is not provided, but candidates will be reimbursed for a portion of the cost.
• These positions will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Training sessions at the beginning of employment are mandatory (late April/early May).
• Staff housing may be available.
