This competition will be used to fill current and future vacancies for wage, temporary and permanent Administrative Support positions as part of the Administrative Talent Pool. Part-time opportunities may be available.

Alberta Parks is seeking a personable individual with a passion for the outdoors and excellent customer service skills to fill 1 permanent Information Officer position.

Role Responsibilities
As an Information Officer you will be responsible for:
- Providing area information and orientation to visitors with a focus on public safety.
- Replying to inquiries concerning visitor facilities, recreational opportunities, natural and cultural history, route selection, wildlife, environment issues and potential hazards in the mountain environment.
- Roving trails and facilities to develop an understanding of the area and to gather first-hand information on conditions, visitor use and the experiences offered by Alberta Parks.
- Answering questions about and processing sales of the Kananaskis Conservation Pass.
- Contributing to the gathering and sharing of written information about Alberta Parks as part of a dynamic information and outreach team.

Qualifications
- High school diploma and a minimum of 1 year of related experience (e.g., work in recreation, natural sciences, teaching, communications, etc).
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum of one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Equivalences will be considered on directly related experience or education on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
- Valid basic first-aid certification (required prior to commencement).
The following are considered assets and should be highlighted in your resume:
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort dealing with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Basic knowledge of Kananaskis Country’s trails, facilities and natural environment.
- Passion for the outdoors and experience with common mountain recreational activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Adobe Acrobat.
- Retail sales experience.
- Class 5 drivers’ license.
- Fluency in languages other than English.
