The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for conducting prosecutions under the Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, and provincial statutes. As a Regional Office Manager, you will lead the administrative operations of a Regional Crown Prosecutor Office, ensuring prosecutors and support staff have the resources, systems, and support they need to effectively serve Albertans. Role Responsibilities

The Regional Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a regional office. The role provides leadership in human resources, financial management, facilities and records administration, and legal support services while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and operational standards. The position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and supporting the successful prosecution of criminal matters across the region.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading and developing a team of administrative and legal support staff.

 

  • Managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance, and workforce planning activities.

 

  • Overseeing regional budgets, expenditures, procurement, and financial reporting.

  • Coordinating office operations, facilities, technology, security, and business continuity requirements.

 

  • Supporting prosecutors through legal administration, records management, and case coordination activities.

 

  • Maintaining compliance with records management, privacy, and Government of Alberta policies and procedures.

 

  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

  • Implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client service.

Qualifications

Two-year diploma in a related field such as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Criminology plus a minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible related experience such as Legal Assistant, Paralegal or any other legal administrative role within an office setting in addition to:

 

  • Experience in legal administration, preferably within a criminal justice environment.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing administrative operations.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe) is required
  • Experience with budgeting, financial administration, and business operations.
  • Strong knowledge of the criminal justice system, legal processes, and applicable legislation.

 

The Following will be considered Assets

 

  • Experience working within the Government of Alberta or a public-sector environment.
  • Experience with records management and information governance practices.
  • Experience using systems such as 1GX, PRISM, CReF, Criminal E-File, JOIN

 

Equivalencies considered:

 

Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience e.g. 1 year of related certificate plus 5 years related experience
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education e.g. 4 years of related experience plus 2 years of related education etc.

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week.
