The Technology and Innovation (T&I) Ministry supports Government of Alberta (GoA) departments with information management and technology (IMT) leadership and expertise in IMT services delivery, security, and corporate investment management that enable the GoA to meet business goals and objectives.
The T&I Ministry uses a one-government approach to IMT governance, decision-making and service delivery across the Government of Alberta (GoA) balanced with individual client needs. The Business and Technology (BTO) branch creates, maintains, delivers and continually improves IT services consumed by clients. BTO delivers varied IT services related to audit, development, infrastructure, integration, maintenance, operations, platforms, project delivery, quality, service design, service desk, telecommunications and more.

As a Senior Platform Services Analyst, you won’t just maintain systems—you’ll define architecture, set standards, and drive innovation that powers Alberta’s digital ecosystem.
Reporting to the Manager, ESM Services Owner, you will lead the development, administration, and governance of the ServiceNow Platform. Your expertise will guide platform upgrades, recommend strategic solutions, and ensure alignment with business needs. You’ll influence the platform roadmap, contribute to prioritization processes, and provide leadership in designing scalable, reusable solutions.
Responsibilities:
Some of your responsibilities in this position will include but are not limited to:
- Develop, administer, and standardize ServiceNow platform configurations and customizations.
- Collaborate with team members and vendors to perform platform upgrades.
- Recommend platform solutions based on business requirements and strategic fit.
- Identify and promote reusable, patterns-based services aligned with enterprise goals.
- Lead and contribute to project and initiative intake and prioritization, shaping the platform roadmap.
- Advise on solutions to support business use cases, including distributed development.
- Lead and mentor analysts in technical expertise and agile practices.

While prior AI experience is not required, a strong interest in emerging technologies is essential. Qualifications
Required:
- University graduation in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Four (4) years of directly related experience in supporting a broad range of enterprise applications.
- Experience supporting ServiceNow Platform (System Administration and development).
Equivalencies: Equivalencies are considered:
- A related two-year diploma in related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and six (6) years related experience; or
- A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and seven (7) years of related experience.
Assets:
- Certification in ServiceNow (CSA and CAD).
- Strong understanding of Alberta Government goals, strategies, priorities, and initiatives, particularly related to IMT’s mandate.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Certification in SAFe or Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of ministry mandates, business objectives, and operational plans.
- Proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including consultation, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.
- Knowledge of privacy and security legislation.
- Ability to clearly convey complex concepts, issues, and resolution options to key decision-makers.
- Demonstrated leadership in creating an engaging work environment that develops staff and builds capacity.
- Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in leading/supervising and empowering diverse teams effectively.
- Strong willingness to learn and adopt emerging AI technologies, ensuring the ServiceNow Platform remains at the forefront of innovation.

Location: Greater Edmonton Area (Remote)
This position is eligible for remote work within the Greater Edmonton Area. Candidates must reside in this area to qualify for remote work.
