Role Responsibilities
Do you have a knack for engagement and enjoy public speaking? Do you consider yourself an expert in relationship management? The Police Review Commission is looking to hiring an Indigenous Liaison that will work hand in hand with the CEO preparing engagement materials and at time delivering them on behalf of the CEO.
The Indigenous Liaison, reporting to the Manager of Engagement and Change Management, is responsible for fostering trust and collaboration with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous community partners. This role involves meeting and communicating with various Indigenous communities and organizations and representing the Police Review Commission's interests during external engagements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and execution of the Police Review Commission's engagement strategy.
- Measuring the results of engagement efforts.
- Providing expertise on community perspectives, public education, and relationship management to the Police Review Commission staff.
As the Indigenous Liaison you must use your experience and specialized knowledge to handle politically and emotionally sensitive discussions while representing the Police Review Commission. You will often meet independently with Indigenous communities, relying solely on your understanding of Indigenous culture, history, protocol, and police oversight.
