Financial Services provides a comprehensive range of support functions essential to the effective operation of the ministry. These include compliance oversight, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, accommodation services, fleet management, and emergency management. Collectively, these functions are critical in supporting the ministry’s strategic priorities, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring alignment with the division, ministry, and Government of Alberta overall goals and objectives.

Role Responsibilities

The Accommodations Unit is seeking a highly organized and client-focused Telecom and Financial Specialist to provide integrated coordination and oversight across telecommunications services, financial management, and branch administration. This role supports reliable, secure, and efficient court operations by ensuring telecommunications services, financial processes, and administrative workflows are well managed and aligned with ministry priorities. 

Reporting to the Manager, Accommodations and Operations, the Telecom and Financial Specialist will coordinate telecommunications services, support financial planning and stewardship, and ensure effective administrative processes for the Accommodations Unit. The position works closely with internal partners, court program areas, Infrastructure, Service Alberta, central agencies, and external vendors to support uninterrupted service delivery across court facilities. 

The role oversees telecom assets and service delivery, monitors budgets and expenditures, supports procurement and reconciliation activities, and works with internal partners and external vendors to resolve service issues and maintain uninterrupted court operations. This position requires sound judgment, strong coordination skills, and a client-focused approach to balancing operational needs, financial stewardship, and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

Two-year technical diploma (business, and administration professional, etc.)  and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience including telecommunications - VOIP and mobile device experience and financial administration experience.

Equivalencies may be considered:
Degree and a minimum a minimum of 2 years related experience, Certificate and a minimum of three (3) years related experience, No education and a minimum of four (4) year’s experience.

Required:

  • Telecommunications, with VOIP and mobile device experience.
  • Financial administration experience. 

Assets:

  • Relocation, scheduling and coordination of moves experience.
  • Stakeholder engagement experience.

  • Financial administration experience. (reconciliation of P-Cards, budget and forecasting, knowledge of Electronic Payment System).
  • Senior leadership support administrative experience (formal and informal).

Location: North Petroleum Plaza - 9845 - 108 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5K 2G6.

Type of position: Temporary salaried with an expected end date of 12 months.
