The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services has significant oversight and involvement in the public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations. The department is responsible for the administration of law enforcement, correctional services, policing and police oversight and public safety. The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime, including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The Ministry also coordinates large scale emergency and disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
The Training Academy is looking for an agile, self-motivated, and self-supported learner to join our team as a Systems Coordinator.
The Training Academy (TA) promotes excellence in training and instructor development by establishing training standards, and in partnership with stakeholders, facilitating the delivery of induction programs and other courses for peace officers in Alberta.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Services and Support, your exceptional communication, organizational and analytical skills will assist in delivering effective business solutions.
The systems Coordinator plans and coordinates the following services to users within the TA, the ministry and external stakeholders:
- Ensuring applications and programs are appropriately maintained and enhanced
- Writing and updating system documentation, procedures and support materials
- Preparing and providing training to users
These responsibilities require an energetic approach in seeing tasks through to completion to ensure quality services are delivered with positive business results.
Your ability to manage multiple tasks will assist you in handling shifting priorities. Your critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem solving, systems thinking, communication and facilitation skills are essential for success in this position.
Working independently and within a team, the systems Coordinator will be involved in an assortment of technologies consisting of:
- Learning management system
- Student property management system (scheduling dorm accommodations)
- Video streaming platform
- Future focused systems may include Training Resource Management system, Learning Content Management System, inventory management

Qualifications
Required:
- A university degree in a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science/Application or in a related field).

Preferences will be given with experience in related fields:
- Systems administration.
- Preparing and providing training to users.
- Providing direct customer service to clients.
- System testing.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
