The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) prosecutes persons charged with Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, and provincial statute offences. The ACPS promotes safe communities by vigorously prosecuting cases involving serious and violent crime, working with individuals and organizations in the community to identify and implement improved and alternative approaches to the administration of criminal justice. In addition, the ACPS develops criminal law policy for the province and supports criminal law consultation with other levels of government.

Role Responsibilities
Are you seeking an opportunity to lead disclosure and operational support services in a fast-paced justice environment while making a meaningful impact across the prosecution service?
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Centralized Services the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of support staff within the Centralized Disclosure Unit.
As Supervisor, Support Staff (Disclosure), you will:
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Centralized Disclosure Unit, acting as the primary liaison and resource for support staff while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant disclosure services to prosecutors.
- Plan, prioritize, and allocate resources to meet disclosure obligations and court deadlines, including delegating work, coordinating coverage for absences, and monitoring productivity and quality standards.
- Supervise bargaining unit employees by managing performance planning, coaching, discipline, grievances, and employee relations matters in accordance with HR policies, the Public Service Commission framework, and the Collective Agreement.
- Oversee disclosure and file management processes, including vetting documentation for POPA-protected or privileged information, confirming defence receipt of disclosure, liaising with police agencies regarding missing disclosure, and ensuring true and full disclosure is provided.
- Support information management and IT-related functions within the unit, including updating systems such as JOIN,
PRISM and CReF, submitting and tracking IT service requests, and troubleshooting system issues in collaboration with IMT and help desk resources. - Foster a positive, informed, and resilient work environment by leading regular staff meetings, mentoring and coaching employees, supporting training and cross-training initiatives, and managing conflict or escalation situations involving staff, stakeholders, or the public.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience supervising support staff in a justice, legal, or disclosure-focused environment, including performance management, coaching, and applying collective agreements and HR policies.
- Strong knowledge of criminal disclosure and file management practices, including working with sensitive and confidential information, POPA considerations, and meeting strict court and operational deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, using sound judgment, clear communication, and collaboration with prosecutors, police, defense counsel, and internal partners.

Qualifications
Two-year diploma in a related field such as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or Criminology, plus a minimum of two year progressively responsible related experience working in a senior legal administrative role within an office setting.
Required:
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe)
Assets:
Experience working with Adobe, JOIN, PRISM, CReF.
Extensive proven supervision experience.
Legal assistant diploma or certificate.
2 Years plus of senior legal and administrative assistant experience.
