As a Strategic Procurement Coordinator with TEC, you’ll be instrumental in advancing procurement governance and strategic initiatives.
In this role, you’ll join a team of critical thinkers and driven professionals managing the procurement governance for the entire ministry. Your expertise will ensure the efficiency, transparency, and success of contracting processes, maintaining both the financial and reputational integrity for the department.
The responsibilities of this role include:
• Developing and supporting standardized procurement governance methods, ensuring alignment with applicable trade agreements (CFTA, NWPTA, CETA, UKTA, WTO GPA).
• Contributing to the creation and continuous improvement of procurement standards, processes, and documentation for consulting and construction services.
• Collaborating with internal teams to identify opportunities for enhancing procurement policies, practices, and strategic alignment.
• Assisting in designing and delivering training programs and materials to build procurement knowledge across departments and stakeholders.
• Supporting the development and implementation of a knowledge management framework and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participating in the internal procurement audit program by conducting audits, reporting findings, and tracking corrective actions.

Qualifications
Requirements:
• A two-year post secondary diploma in a related field such as Public Administration or Business plus a minimum of two (2) years of related progressively responsible experience.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement practices, methodologies and documents.
• Knowledge of the procurement obligations of the domestic and international trade agreements Alberta is a party to.
• Knowledge of the principles of contract law and competitive bidding law.
• Knowledge of process management and business analysis.
Equivalencies:
• A related bachelors degree with no direct experience; or
• A related one-year certificate and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; or
• A minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
Assets:
• Previous experience in a government environment.
• One or more years experience in a public sector procurement environment.
• Familiarity with government financial legislation, regulations and policies.
• Knowledge and experience of contracts and contracting methods used to procure construction and consulting/engineering services.
• Familiarity with standard construction industry systems and formats.
• Familiarity with risk management, insurance and surety bonding.

• Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday
• Location: Twin Atria Building, Edmonton
