Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor who will be responsible for assisting with the design, delivery and evaluation of internal and external stakeholder engagement on public safety matters, and for supporting those engagements and liaising with other divisions and ministries, as needed.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Community and Stakeholder Engagement within the Strategic Policy and Planning branch, this position will be tasked with leading projects, providing advice, some facilitation, evaluation, planning as well as research into other policies and programs and business areas to support the engagement needs of the ministry.   


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the design and delivery of various forms of virtual/ in-person stakeholder engagements using best/promising practices and those prescribed by the Government of Alberta.
  • Supporting the coordination and tracking the progress of stakeholder engagements and communicating the results.
  • Providing secretariat support for advisors and/or advisory committees
  • Supporting employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • University education in Communications, Social Sciences, Business or Administration PLUS a minimum of 2 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, and policy development and research. 
  • Equivalencies will be considered on a one year-for-one year basis

 

Assets:

  • Understanding of how government operates, its use of engagement to inform policies and procedures, and strong political acumen.
  • Knowledge of public safety and emergency management as it pertains to the Ministry.

Notes

  • Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day/ 36.25 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday (8:15 am to 4:30 pm)
  • Cubicle style, shared workspace
