Elections Alberta is an independent, non-partisan office of the Legislature. Elections Alberta is responsible for administering provincial elections, by-elections and referenda. Our mission is to serve Albertans as an independent election management body committed to the administration of modern, transparent, and accessible democratic processes that ensure the integrity and enhance the value of Alberta’s electoral system.
Role Responsibilities
The Service Agent is responsible for providing electoral event support services in Elections Alberta’s provincial service centre in Edmonton. This includes document and record reviews, validation, numbering, sorting, and filing, making outbound telephone calls and sending emails to electors to verify information, taking inbound elector inquiry calls, and completing data verification and entry.
This role is essential in supporting key electoral event processes, and requires excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to follow processes in a timely and accurate manner, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Note: Up to 100 service agents are required beginning October 27, 2025. This is an in-person role at Elections Alberta’s head office in Edmonton. The are three shifts requiring up to 40 service agents per shift, as follows:
- 8:15 am to 4:00 pm weekdays
- 3:30 pm to 8:15 pm weekdays
- 9:30 am to 4:00 pm weekends
Qualifications
- High school diploma or directly related experience considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education.
- Call centre, service centre, customer service, data entry, administrative, elections, and/or mapping experience would be considered an asset.
- Excellent speaking, listening, and reading communication skills to make and answer phone calls professionally, serve callers, receive and provide information, and interact with colleagues. If English is not your first language, you must provide documentation demonstrating a minimum IELTS 8 level in reading, speaking, and listening.
- Strong computer skills, ability to learn new applications, and use Windows and MS Office applications.
- Ability to follow direction and detailed processes and complete assigned work in a timely and efficient manner with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate controls working with personal information.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, following directions and accepting constructive coaching and feedback.
- Must be prepared and able to act as a non-partisan representative of Elections Alberta.
- Ability to speak languages other than English would be considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- This position is in-person at Elections Alberta’s head office in Edmonton. Candidates must be able to commute to the office for their shifts.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are available to work full-time.
