The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect, and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults. Role Responsibilities
The Workforce Development Branch within the Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Business Supports Division (RQB) is dedicated to ensuring that Children and Family Ministry employees and agency staff receive the necessary training, learning, and development to meet their needs. This involves collaborating with internal business areas to identify staff development requirements, consulting with program areas to support the knowledge and skill growth of delegated workers, and providing ongoing training, resources, and tools. The branch also maintains accreditation standards, tracks and stores training records and materials, and actively promotes and communicates training activities.
Reporting to the Manager’s within the workforce development (WFD), this position works as a key part of a team to provide technical and administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Training Coordination & Administration: Manage in-person and virtual training logistics, including course setup, venue booking, material coordination, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless delivery for GOA and DFNA staff.
- Learning Management Systems (LMS): Administer Moodle and PRIDE LMS platforms, track attendance, manage course updates, and provide technical support to trainers and participants.
- Communication & Stakeholder Support: Act as the primary contact for registrants, trainers, and sponsors; provide timely updates, resolve issues, and maintain effective communication throughout training delivery.
- Service Request Coordination: Manage supply orders, equipment tracking, and branch facility updates; submit and track requests using the BERNIE database.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Generate and distribute reports on course attendance, completion rates, and accreditation compliance; provide insights for management and leadership teams.
- Course Promotion & Documentation: Design promotional materials, newsletters, and course advertisements; maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GOA visual identity standards.
- Technical Support: Provide immediate troubleshooting during training sessions, support virtual delivery platforms like Teams and Zoom, and ensure equipment functionality.
- Compliance & Accreditation: Support accreditation processes with the Association of Social Work Boards, track mandatory training requirements, and manage certification issuance.

Qualifications
High school diploma and three years of related experience.
Equivalencies:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
Preference would be given to those with a Post Secondary Diploma related to office and records administration.

- Strong attention to detail for maintaining data integrity and technical skills working in multiple formats.
- Strong commitment to resolving issues to create a positive learning experience for staff.
