Join the Financial and Administrative Shared Services Division within the SARTR Ministry as Senior Business Process Specialist.
Reporting to the Manager, Training, Standards and Reporting, the Senior Business Process Specialist role is a strategic and leadership-focused position within the Procurement Services Branch (PS Branch). This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency, innovation, and strategic alignment of procurement processes across ministries while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

- Ensure all procurement processes are aligned with government priorities, trade agreements, and legislative requirements, providing a cohesive framework for compliance and efficiency.
- Spearhead initiatives to improve procurement operations, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance cross-ministry collaboration.
- Coordinate and analyze sole source data across the Government of Alberta (GoA), ensuring timely and accurate preparation of Deputy Minister and Minister packages.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of sole source data that will be posted for public viewing, upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
- Use data-driven insights to prepare the final trade agreement compliance report, ensuring it aligns with all reporting standards and legislative requirements.
- Develop performance metrics and dashboards to track the effectiveness and efficiency of aligned processes.
- Lead the development of training, communication materials, and presentations to foster adoption of improved procurement processes across the PS Branch.
- Act as the enterprise liaison and key advisor for process improvement initiatives, sole source reporting and trade agreement reporting, ensuring transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Applying advanced methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) to redesign processes, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with best practices.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field (such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, Operations Management, Economics) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Requirement:
The incumbent is required to have:

- Advanced knowledge of process improvement methodologies, including business process mapping tools and techniques. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Visio.

Assets

- Experience with data visualization, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
- Project Management certification.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the operations/workings of public sector environments and/or government departments within the Alberta Public Service will be an asset.

Notes
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm (36.25/week).
Positions Currently available: One Permanent position.
Location: Oxbridge Place Building, 9820 106 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5K 2J6.
Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
