Role Responsibilities

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference on matters relating to older adults in Alberta?

If so, the Seniors Strategic Policy Branch, Seniors Division is looking for you to join our team! 

The Senior Analyst, Community Partnerships provides leadership, advice, and support for highly collaborative, cross-sectoral initiatives through provincial, community, and allied stakeholder partnerships. You will lead and support multiple projects and work with partners to plan and implement initiatives to advance ministry priorities. This will involve: 

  • Research and analysis to inform program development and initiatives related to older adults.
  • Design, plan, manage, and evaluate projects, including grant and contract management.
  • Work strategically and collaboratively with stakeholders and ministry and cross government colleagues to advance outcomes related to the community initiatives focused on older adults, ministry business plan, and minister's priorities.
  • Support the alignment of research, policy, program, and community initiatives across government that support the independence and well-being of Alberta seniors. 


To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Awareness of key issues, trends, and services related to older adults in Alberta.
  • Ability to analyze and conceptualize information from a variety of sources into clearly written documents and resources.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to convene, facilitate, and/or participate in a variety of stakeholder or cross ministry working groups.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while embracing change and iteration.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to be pro-active and take initiative.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • University graduation in a related field (social sciences, public administration or similar discipline);
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible related experience in program or policy development.


Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered equivalent on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; 
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.


Assets for this position:

  • Experience working in the community-based senior serving, social, or health care sector or related government departments.
  • Experience with program evaluation.
  • Experience with contract and grant management policies and procedures.
  • Experience leading teams and supporting full cycle project management.
  • Experience developing communications, reports and/or presentations.
  • Understanding of government processes and operations.

There is 1 full-time permanent position located in Edmonton, 44 Capital Boulevard. 

Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day/36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday
