Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. The Corporate Accountability Planning (CAP) Branch within the Corporate Finance and Accountability Division plays a vital role in advancing the Government of Alberta’s commitment to public accountability and transparency. The Branch supports continuous improvement across ministries and is comprised of four dynamic units: Quality Assurance and Accountability (QAA), Internal Audit, Corporate Planning and Reporting, and Training and Project Solutions.
Role Responsibilities
The QAA Unit is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Accountability Analyst to contribute to shaping strategic accountability frameworks that underpin the Ministry’s commitment to delivering quality services to Albertans.
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance (QA), the Senior Accountability Analyst has the following key responsibilities:
• Lead accountability-focused analyses through rigorous research and partner engagement to inform evidence-based frameworks, processes, and recommendations aligned with Ministry QA priorities.
• Support and design capacity-building initiatives across the Ministry to enhance accountability and performance management understanding.
• Collaborate with ministry partners to develop robust, methodologically sound approaches to monitoring and evaluating ALSS priority initiatives.
• Manage projects independently, providing technical expertise and guidance on strategic accountability approaches including the implementation and maintenance of the Ministry’s Performance Management Framework (PMF).
• Actively participate in cross-ministry working groups focused on evaluation, outcomes, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare clear, insightful reports and briefings for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and sustain strong internal and external relationships to align accountability initiatives with partner needs and Ministry strategic priorities.

Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standards:
• University graduation in a related field (e.g., social sciences, public administration, education) plus four (4) years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in applied social research, evaluation, and/or performance management and accountability.
• Experience in contract and project management.
• Demonstrated experience working across all levels of government.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
• 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
• 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
