Our responsibilities include promoting safe communities by prosecuting serious and violent crime cases. Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the planning manager, the senior accommodation planner is responsible for supporting the development of the Ministry Capital Plans (Accommodation, Capital Projects and Facility Improvements) and for providing background information required in preparing responses to action requests. You will help to ensure the Accommodations area are kept on track through the establishment and maintenance of appropriate reporting systems. You will be required to develop and oversee the professional delivery of accommodation projects and to ensure the needs of the Ministry are being achieved.
As the Senior Accommodation Planner, your responsibilities will include, ( but not limited to):
• Consults with internal and external stakeholders to collect and disseminate information related to accommodation requirements in support of client and corporate business plan goals and objectives in order to ensure government programs are accommodated effectively.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement innovative accommodation solutions in support of client and corporate business plan objectives, while recognizing budget limitations to maximize the efficient use of government owned and leased space in a cost-effective manner while achieving optimum operational requirements.
• Conduct cost analyses of accommodation requests and solutions to determine budget implications and identify funding resources available within client and corporate and budgets limitations to expedite successful project implementation.
• Initiate the implementation of accommodation projects by providing detailed verbal and written instructions to various stakeholders that facilitate the involvement of necessary resources. Implementation must follow approved Ministry guidelines, procedures and signing authorities to ensure that specific program needs are addressed through an approved project scope of work and budget.

• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate team building through client and stakeholder interaction as well as the ability to recognize potential conflicts, opportunities and communicate them appropriately.
• Strong organizational skills to deal with a multitude of competing requests for attention and funding.
• Ability to communicate (oral or written) effectively with different levels of government, as well as private sector vendors.•
• Well-developed analytical, decision making, time-management project planning, project management, and group leadership skills.
• A thorough understanding of sensitivities and appropriateness in approaches as they relate to accommodations and facilities.
• Experience working and collaborating with diverse groups of people, including facilitating multi-stakeholder groups is required.

Qualifications
A completed university degree in Interior Design or Architecture, plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Equivalency:
• A completed 2 year diploma in Interior Design or Architecture, plus a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible, related experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have interior design and accommodation / space planning experience.
Experience or knowledge that will be considered an asset:
• Experience with or understanding of contract law.
• Experience related to the technical aspects of planning and construction.
• Knowledge of government and departmental processes and standards.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint sites. AutoCAD, and WORTS.
• Knowledge of GoA procurement process and contracting.
