Role Responsibilities
Restitution Program Liaison provides overall program oversight and victim support for the Restitution Recovery Program (RRP).
The position demands a self-motivated individual with excellent judgment and communication skills, who liaises with other stakeholders within the criminal justice system to help with the coordination of the restitution process in Alberta. This position has significant impact on program operations and public accountability.
In order to be successful in this role you must:
- Have a general understanding the operations of the criminal justice system
- Preform environmental scans and seek out best practices
- Have experience working with external clients and have knowledge of trauma informed practice.
- Utilize exceptional communication skill in the undertaking of briefings, policy development, mediation, report writing, and problem solving.
- Ensure public communication and documents related to the Restitution Recovery Program, Victim Impact Statement and Community Impact Statement are current and appropriate
- Works both independently and in cross-ministry teams to promote, develop and maintains effective communication and collaborative relationships with staff across the ministries.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- University graduation in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or related field
- PLUS, a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Equivalencies will be considered on a one year-for-one-year basis.
Assets:
- Experience writing for and disseminating data for stakeholders at varying levels
- Experience working with the criminal justice system or other legal environment
- Trauma informed work experience or certification
- Experience working with JOIN and ARTS
