The Resource Strategy and Management Branch
This branch leads strategic planning and continuous improvement for Alberta’s K–12 learning and teaching resource collection. It coordinates complex projects involving collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and manages digital access, intellectual property, and sector-wide best practices to ensure high-quality resources are aligned with curriculum priorities.
Role Responsibilities
About the Role:
As the Resource Collection Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing the intake, authorization, publication, and maintenance of curriculum-aligned learning and teaching resources. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Operations, you will lead and support multiple projects that contribute to the continuous improvement of Alberta’s learning and teaching resource collection.
This position requires strong project management and coordination, analytical thinking, and collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders. You will help ensure that learning and teaching resources meet ministry standards and support the successful implementation of curriculum across the province.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and streamline processes for the review, development, and publication of learning and teaching resources.
- Develop and maintain tools, guidelines, and workflows to support consistent and efficient resource management.
- Facilitate collaboration across sector units, resolving issues and identifying risks and opportunities to keep projects on track.
- Lead data collection, validation, and analysis to inform leadership decisions and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in resource development.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations to support strategic planning and performance measurement.
- Support day-to-day program operations, including workflow management, administration, and reporting.
- Provide advice and input to leadership on emerging issues, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
- Foster relationships across branches, divisions, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective information sharing.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field (Ex. Business, Public Administration, Education, Social Sciences), plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
The following knowledge/experience are considered as asset for this position:
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
- Knowledge of Alberta’s K–12 education system and relevant legislation (e.g., Education Act).
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficient in research, data analysis, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in problem solving, decision-making, and applying sound judgment.
- Comfortable working independently and in team environments and contributing to committees and project groups.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and other tools like Adobe Acrobat.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Working location is in Edmonton.
