Role Responsibilities

Are you highly organized and committed to supporting fair, transparent processes that strengthen public trust in policing? Do you enjoy coordinating logistics, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to meaningful outcomes for Albertans?

As a Resolution Coordinator with the Police Review Commission (PRC), you will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Case Management and Resolution branch. Reporting to the Manager of Resolution, you will help organize resolution meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and support trauma-informed practices in interactions with the public.

Key areas that will make you successful in this role:

•    Administrative Support – Provide scheduling, correspondence, and office support for the resolution team, including onboarding new staff and coordinating IT or service requests.
•    Records and Information Management – Maintain filing systems, manage confidential records, and support information and privacy requests.
•    Scheduling and Coordination – Coordinate meetings between complainants, police officers, and mediators, including logistical arrangements, agendas, minutes, and action item tracking.
•    Office Supplies and Resources – Track office inventory, order supplies, and manage equipment requests to keep the team’s operations running smoothly.
•    Stakeholder Support – Liaise with complainants, subject officers, Indigenous Elders, mediators, and vendors to coordinate resolution sessions and ensure information is accurate and timely.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma plus one year of related administrative experience.

Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of: 

•    1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
•    1 year of experience for 1 year of education

The following will be considered assets:

•    Experience coordinating meetings with multiple stakeholders and tracking decisions.
•    Experience preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
•    Familiarity with POPA and records management practices.
•    Knowledge of trauma-informed practices in supporting complainants or members of the public.

Technical Competencies:

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
•    Experience using ARTS, 1GX, BERNIE, or similar systems.
•    Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills to support professional correspondence and recordkeeping.

Other Requirements: 

•    Must be able to pass and maintain a police information check, and other clearances required to access police databases.

•    Location: Edmonton or Calgary
•    Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week (permanent full time)
•    Monday to Friday (8:15 am to 4:30 pm)
