Within Technology and Innovation, the One Government Experience (1GX) Centre of Excellence (COE) branch provides transformational leadership to support and enable the shift to a One Government approach to corporate services across the Government of Alberta including the Independent Legislative Offices (ILO) through managing the implementation and ongoing operations of the enterprise resource planning system.

We're looking for talented and detail-oriented data focused Reporting and Analytics Analysts to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
 

Data Analysis:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and requirements.
  • Extract and transform data from various sources with a primary focus on 1GX through the use of tools such as Query Manager 4, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SuccessFactors Story Reporting and datasphere.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify data trends, patterns and anomalies.
  • Review data dictionaries to understand the impacts of system changes.


Report Development:

  • Design and develop comprehensive reports and dashboards using industry-standard reporting tools.
  • Ensure that reports are accurate, timely and easy to understand.
  • Create interactive visualizations to effectively communicate and present data insights.
  • Receive and complete Service Requests relating to developing or enhancing reports.
  • Maintain and update existing reports to align with business or system needs and document changes to reports.


Data Governance:

  • Help the Master Data Management team maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Implement data governance standards and best practices.


Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, supply chain management, human capital management and payroll.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • University graduation in a related field such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Business Analysts or Data Analytics. 
  • 2 years of progressively responsible related experience. 
  • Experience / Knowledge working with data across multiple systems.
  • Experience in and understanding of Finance data, Human Resources data or other sensitive data types.
  • Experience in data quality management.
  • Proficient in using SQL and have experience working with relational and non-relational databases.


Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education


Assets:

  • Experience in project planning and management methodologies and best practices, including those related to planning, project management, resource management, risk analysis, controls, change and issues management, and progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including strong presentation skills.
  • Experience working with Query Manager 4, SuccessFactors Story Reporting or SAP Analytics Cloud or similar.
  • MS Office software skills (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Managing customer expectations and priorities of GoA.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the department’s business plan and objectives.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems/applications such as1GX applications and data and the interaction between various modules and components of applications (e.g., Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance).
  • Data compliance methodologies and considerations.
  • Strong research, analytical and interpretive abilities to provide sound advice, interpretation, and guidance on the application of the 1GX programs or similar.  
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, including problem solving skills and ability to provide possible outcomes or solutions. 
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills to work independently and in a team setting.

Term of Employment: Up to two permanent full-time positions.

Hours of Work:  36.25 hours per week/ Monday – Friday 

Location: Edmonton.  This position is eligible for hybrid work.
