This position resides in the Ministry of Hospital and Surgical Health Services under the Acute Care Division, within the Provincial and Clinical Programs Branch.
Role Responsibilities
As a Provincial Program Specialist and Clinical Advisor, you will provide clinical and operational expertise on initiatives that improve Albertans’ access to provincial acute care services.
• Lead research, analysis, and policy development aligned with Ministry and acute care objectives.
• Work collaboratively to develop and assess policy options and support innovative initiatives enhancing access and delivery of provincial acute care services.
• Prepare and review briefings, reports, and communication materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Support communication strategies and provide timely issues management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance key health system initiatives.
• Analyze data, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Identify potential impacts for the health system (including cross-ministry) related to regulations and policy.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Degree related to the position assignment (Nursing, Medical, Reg. Health Provider) and four (4) years of related experience. Current registration in good standing with an Alberta professional college
Equivalency: Diploma related to the position assignment and six (6) years of related experience. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act. Master’s degree related to the position assignment and three (3) years of related experience. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act.
