The Human Trafficking Advisor, reporting to the Manager Anti-Human Trafficking Initiatives, supports the implementation of the Human Trafficking Task Force recommendations through strategic collaboration with sector stakeholder. The advisor works with other divisions, ministries, and cross-governmental stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing research, policy analysis, coordination, and support for strategic policy and intergovernmental priorities.
- Supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects to address human trafficking.
- Managing files and stakeholders independently while seeking direction from the Manager as needed.
- Participating in federal, provincial, or territorial committees and preparing briefing materials.
- Supporting the Human Trafficking Cross Ministry Working Group and maintaining the human trafficking awareness e-Learning course.
The role requires strategic thinking, collaboration, and engagement with various stakeholders to achieve outcomes. The advisor supports high-level decision-making on multiple projects and must be self-motivated, with strong judgment, interpretive, and communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in Law, Policy, Political Science, Business, Public Administration or any other related field with 4 years of related experience.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
Assets:
- Extensive research experience with the ability to consolidate large, and diverse amounts of complex information
- Experience with ARTS
- Sound understanding of the ministry and Government of Alberta operations, cultures, priorities and the political implications and risks
- Sound understanding of government policy and decision-making process
- Experience developing decision documents such as briefing notes and cabinet reports
- Project Management experience or designation

- Monday to Friday (8:15 am to 4:30 pm)
