The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects such as strategic policy initiatives, business transformations and Justice Digital.
Role Responsibilities
Are you energized by complex policy environments and cross-government collaboration? This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role by supporting executive leadership, advancing ministry priorities, and helping shape outcomes that matter to Albertans.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Governance and Intergovernmental Relations you will support high profile strategic initiatives by working closely with executive leadership and ministry partners.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to strategic initiatives by researching emerging issues, analyzing options, and helping prepare briefings and recommendations for branch leadership.
- Coordinating branch work by supporting meetings and cross-ministry working groups.
- Supporting project planning and delivery by developing critical paths, tracking progress, coordinating, and helping initiatives stay on track.
- Drafting reports, correspondence, presentations, and updates for branch leadership.
- Supporting the Executive Director with branch operational planning.
- Supporting administrative work such as tracking the flow of ministerial correspondence through the Action Request Tracking System (ARTS), responding to general inquiries, ordering supplies, making travel arrangements, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as political science, public administration, law, or a related discipline.
The following equivalencies may be considered:
- A related two-year diploma plus a minimum of 2 years related experience.
- A related one-year certificate plus a minimum of 3 years related experience.
- No post-secondary education but a minimum of 4 years related experience.
Assets:
- Experience in drafting briefing notes and conducting research.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a public sector or government setting.
- Experience with branch and/or project coordination.

- Full time permanent opportunity located at the Baker Centre, 10025 – 106 Street, Edmonton, AB.
- Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday).
