Role
This position is required to assist Corporate Services in the development and update of TEC policies including the policy compendium and emergency management. The Program Officer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and testing of a comprehensive department business continuity plan
The main responsibilities of Program Officer are (but not limited to):
- Prepares and maintains the department's consequence management plan, procedures, and arrangements to ensure that the department can carry out its functions under threat-specific response plans.
- Ensure business continuity in the event of an emergency situation that would preclude normal operations at one or more of the department's sites and facilities.
- Ensure that the business continuity and consequence management plans are developed to meet the requirements of the Emergency Management Act and the Government Emergency Management Regulation.
- Develop status reports, including briefing notes, issues and business analyses, and discussion papers, to ensure Management, Ministry, and government representatives and stakeholders are informed of project progress and issues.
- Provide in-depth of research, analysis, and policy development skills, combined with project management experience, to enable the planning, research, development, implementation and monitoring of provincial policies, legislation, strategies, and projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- University degree in Public Policy, Law Business Admin or equivalent supplemented by two years' progressively related experience in Policy Management, Development, and research
Desired:
- Knowledge of government related policies, processes, and legislation
- Understanding of business planning, accountability processes, performance management and emergency management
- Planning and coordinating projects for program and policy development

$2,310.48 to $3,030.81 bi-weekly ($60,303 – $79,104/year)
