The Primary Agriculture Division at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is looking a highly motivated individual to be a part of the Program Delivery team! The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is seeking a Program Delivery Specialist to support the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) Water Program (on-farm water supply stream).

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Delivery Supervisor, the Program Delivery Specialist must be able to collect, verify, and analyze application data, resolve inquiries, and assess eligibility based on program terms, funding parameters, and internal policy thresholds.This role is integral to the processing of On-Farm Water Supply stream grant applications and ensuring program integrity. A key component of this position involves working with applicants, program staff, and water specialists using the Grant Management System (GMS) and other Government of Alberta tools.

To be successful in this role, you require strong communication skills and a good understanding of production agriculture practices to support efficient delivery and success of the program.

The primary responsibilities for the Program Delivery Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating water grant applications for applicant and non-technical project eligibility.
  • Ensuring grant amounts align with Sustainable CAP Water Program parameters.
  • Applying program terms and conditions, funding lists, and internal policies.
  • Maintaining high standards of data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborating with Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation water specialists.
  • Communicating effectively with applicants, agricultural producers and stakeholders across Alberta’s agricultural sectors.
  • Organizing and managing application files using naming conventions and service standards.
  • Using tools such as Excel tracking sheets, CAP Shared Mailbox (UCM), CORES, TEAMS, and GMS.

Required

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in an agricultural or water systems context.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta agriculture production operations and technology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Assets

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, One Drive).
  • Post-secondary diploma in Business, Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
  • Good understanding of agricultural terminology, water systems, land locations, disease and emergence response, crop and livestock production systems.
  • Ability to apply legal terms and conditions and interpret water legislation.
  • Ability to effectively transcribe verbal communications.
