Role Responsibilities

Are you looking for a position where you have the opportunity to exercise sufficient innovation and creativity? We are looking for a Program Administrator in the Data Access & Contract Management Unit who will continue to apply all relevant laws, policies and procedures in respect to individuals’ rights for privacy while balancing stakeholder needs.

 

In this position you must understand and balance the needs and expectations of a diverse group of persons wanting access to Registries’ data, while at all times working within the established laws, policies and procedures.

 

The following will assist in your success in this position:

  • Knowledge of data governance with respect to policy/procedures and legislation, which includes the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and Traffic Safety Act (TSA).
  • Knowledge and skills related to project management/coordination and project life cycles. Experience with project planning (management) within a team environment and individually as the work environment dictates.
  • Knowledge and experience with various Registry systems, data and data management and related business processes.
  • Ability to develop and interpret various types of contracts, as well as interpret and apply a number of statutory documents which govern the access to and the release of personal information.
  • Good judgement that weighs the analytical evidence before making recommendations.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize work within guidelines.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University graduation in a related field such as Information Sciences Public Policy, or Public Administration.
  • 4 years progressively responsible related experience in areas such as project management, contract management, writing and understanding policy and legislation.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

 

Assets:

  • Experience using MS Access or other similar databases
  • Familiarity with privacy legislation such as FOIP, PIPA, PIPEDA, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Traffic Safety Act (TSA)
  • Experience responding to Action Requests
  • Previous experience interacting with the OIPC (Office of the Information Privacy Commissioner)

  • This position is located in Edmonton and will work out of the John E. Brownlee Building located at 10365 – 97 St NW, Edmonton Alberta.
