Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is the government’s solution provider and supports the significant events in Albertans’ lives, like having a child, getting married, mourning the loss of a loved one, getting a driver’s license, or buying a home.
Our ministry is responsible for protecting consumers in an increasingly complex economic environment; overseeing registry activities, like vehicle, business and land registrations; and cutting red tape by one-third to reduce costs, speed up approvals, and make life easier for hard-working Albertans and businesses.

Service Alberta & Red Tape Reduction offers opportunities for talented individuals to realize their goals while providing integrated and shared services to ministries across government.
Reporting to Postal Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Processing interdepartmental mail and documents between government departments, boards, agencies, and other organizations when applicable, within Alberta.
- Operating mailing equipment and electronic shipping tools (EST) as well as manual labor for sorting as the processing documents destined for Canada Post is inclusive. All documentation must be processed accurately, daily.
- Maintaining accuracy and integrity as many of the documents contain very sensitive materials and are high confidential and must be delivered on urgent basis.
- Ensuring that all operating decisions are made within set procedures and guidelines.
- Prioritizing workloads utilizing time management skills.
To be successful, you will also be required to demonstrate:

- High level of independence in terms of executing assigned tasks.

Qualifications
High school diploma and one year of related experience.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
The incumbent is required to have:
- One year experience in warehouse operations and or postal environment.
- Excellent understanding of the daily mail service operations and guidelines.
- Computer literacy for the operation of the in-house computer software such as Loomis, Federal Express, EST for Canada Post and Aurora.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and other internet applications.
The following will be considered as Assets:
- Thorough knowledge of provincial ministries, agencies, boards, and commissions.
- Excellent knowledge of Canada Post rates, regulations, and delivery standards.

Currently, recruiting to fill one permanent position in Edmonton.
Location: Muriel Stanley Venne Provincial Centre, 12360- 142 Street, Edmonton AB T5L 4X9.
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 7:30am -3:45pm pm with one hour lunch break
