Financial Services provides a comprehensive range of support functions essential to the effective operation of the ministry. These include compliance oversight, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, accommodation services, fleet management, and emergency management. Collectively, these functions are critical in supporting the ministry’s strategic priorities, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring alignment with the division, ministry, and Government of Alberta overall goals and objectives.

Join us as the Parking & Administrative Coordinator - an essential role that ensures Justice staff across Alberta can access the parking, fleet, and administrative services they rely on every day.

In this role, you will manage parking administration for a large, province wide portfolio, serving as the ministry’s subject matter expert on the Online Parking Request Administration (OPRA) system. You will guide staff through policies, maintain accurate inventories and records, and collaborate with Infrastructure stakeholders to keep processes compliant and efficient. Alongside your parking responsibilities, you’ll support fleet coordination, surplus processing, and general administrative duties that help keep daily operations running seamlessly.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Administering Justice parking in alignment with government directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Guiding and coaching staff on OPRA use, parking processes, and eligibility requirements.
  • Evaluating, approving, and documenting parking assignments, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and fairness.
  • Investigating and resolving parking issues, inquiries, complaints, and audit findings.
  • Maintaining and analyzing parking inventories, reports, and data using Excel, Adobe, and related tools.
  • Coordinating with Infrastructure on parking allocations, access issues, and audit responses.
  • Processing surplus items, including logging assets, preparing documentation, and liaising with ministry surplus contacts.
  • Managing the fleet vehicle by scheduling bookings, maintaining records, and coordinating repairs and maintenance.
  • Supporting accommodations functions by handling mail, maintaining meeting room equipment, and receiving/distributing goods.
  • Backing up the telecom specialist by triaging service requests, communicating with service providers, and assisting with emergency VoIP issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in administrative, coordination, or similar roles.

Assets: 

  • Experience in government parking administration or facilities coordination.
  • Experience with online business applications such as OPRA and/or BLIMS.
  • Familiarity with the Treasury Board Directive, GoA parking policies, CRA taxable benefit rules.
  • Knowledge of surplus asset processing or fleet vehicle coordination.
  • Proficiency with standard business productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word)

  • Full time permanent opportunity located at the ATB Place North Building, Edmonton, AB
  • Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
