Treasury Board and Finance, Edmonton – Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA) is responsible for the collection of revenue and the administration of Alberta’s tax, revenue and related benefit programs. The focus of our organization is to ensure a fair, efficient and effective provincial tax and revenue system.
Business Solutions within TRA provides a diverse scope of services to the Branch and to Alberta Government Ministries, in the support of Collections and Recoveries activities. The Paralegal Services teams within Business Solutions perform activities such as management of highly sensitive portfolios and paralegal services involving collection, legal and enforcement actions.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Paralegal Services, the Paralegal Administrative Supervisor provides leadership, coordination and advice to a team of administrative professionals in the delivery of functions in support of Paralegal services.
Key responsibilities for the Supervisor role are:
- Coordinating and communicating priorities to the team
- Documenting/maintaining business process maps/documents and procedures to achieve standardized approaches
- Coordinating the generation of statements of accounts, deposit of funds and disbursements as required
- Working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external clients on diverse issues and resolutions
- Leading team members by supporting staff engagement, encouraging collaboration and providing advice to effectively meet goals and achieve outcomes
The successful candidate will have the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to analyze a variety of information provided by third parties including the courts and other government departments and understand the impacts to paralegal activities.

Qualifications
A two-year diploma in a related field (e.g. Commerce, Business administration) supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience is required.
Required experience includes:
- Supervision of staff in a team environment
- Sound knowledge of legislation pertaining to civil litigation in a collection’s environment
- Strong MS Office skills
Asset(s) for this role include:
- Commissioner of Oaths in Alberta
Equivalency:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
