Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Coordinator is a member of a large records management program and assists with the daily storage and management of records, as well as helping clients retrieve their required records.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Receiving, sorting, labeling, and storing records and boxes in designated warehouse locations
  • Retrieving requested records or boxes and preparing them for delivery or client pickup
  • Accurately refiling returned records in proper sequence to maintain record integrity
  • Assisting with records disposition activities and supporting ongoing storage space organization
  • Performing general warehouse and record-handling duties while adhering to workplace safety, security, and operational procedures

  • Comfortability working at heights and operating elevated warehouse equipment, such as order pickers and forklifts, in accordance with safety requirements

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma with a minimum of two years of related administrative experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse experience
  • Ability to operate an order picker at heights of up to 25 feet
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting of boxes averaging 35 pounds and up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time


Equivalencies will be considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.


Assets:

  • Valid forklift certification
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment, including order pickers, forklifts, and manual or electric pallet jacks
  • Ability to operate packaging equipment, such as a bag sealer
  • Basic knowledge of records management principles, including handling, storage, retrieval, and disposition of records in accordance with established procedures
  • Basic knowledge of GoA records management systems, including Inactive Records Information System (IRIS), Online Records Retrieval System (ORRS), and Records Scheduling System (RSS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, 1GX is considered an asset; training may be provided

Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-time position

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday

Location: Alberta Records Centre | Yellowhead Crossing Phase I, Building 3, 11546 186 Street NW, Edmonton, AB  T5S 0J1
