Role Responsibilities

The EPS (Electronic Payment System) is the Government of Alberta’s (GoA’s) system used to receive, verify and process electronic invoices from Telecommunication Vendor’s for payment.

This position reports to the EPS Operations Team Lead and provides EPS operational support to GoA Ministries and external Telecommunications Vendors in a Finance environment. In this role, the Operational Analyst completes complex reconciliations, handles payment file exceptions, files disputes on behalf of users and updates data in response to Ministry requests.

The Operational Analyst provides application expertise and Help Desk support to GoA wide clientele and interacts closely with Vendors in the review and analysis of data.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Performing EPS invoice and payment file reconciliations related to Vendor and the GoA’s ERP files to maintain GoA data integrity.
  • Scheduling EPS vendor file reviews for Ministries and EPS payment files from GoA ERP.
  • Validating Vendor files sent to GoA’s ERP for payment. Ensure financial data is accurate. Investigate/solution exceptions in direct consultation with Ministries and Vendors.
  • Providing EPS access to GoA Ministry authorized users in a timely manner.
  • Updating data in EPS in accordance with Ministry requests and Vendor reports (status/financial).
  • Providing EPS Help Desk support to GoA-wide clientele and work closely with external telecommunication Vendors on GoA data requirements.  
  • Assisting with the amendment of EPS procedures as required.

  • Ability to interact with and communicate clearly with both technical and business personnel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, GoA Ministry and Vendor contacts with a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

High school diploma and three years of finance and system related experience.

Equivalencies are described below:

  • A one-year certificate and 2 years of related experience.
  • A two-year diploma and one year of directly related experience.


Required 

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs e.g., Word (formatting, editing, writing), Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, V-Lookup).

Preference will be given to the following assets:

  • Customer focus and service delivery experience.
  • Call Centre Etiquette experience.
  • Reconciliation experience.
  • Knowledge of 1GX, exposure to VPN and WS FTP Pro.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience as an Operations Analyst.

This is one Temporary position ending March 2026.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM.
