Role Responsibilities

Are you a motivated, caring, and committed health care professional? Do you have a genuine interest in working with children with disabilities experiencing complex medical challenges needs? If you are, then we would like to hear from you. We are looking to fill casual wage  Registered Nurse positions at the Rosecrest Home.

Rosecrest Home provides 24/7 services for 18 children and youth who permanently reside at the facility; in addition, offers out-of-home respite care for up to 9 children and youth that are physically disabled with complex medical needs. In this position, you will provide a friendly, supportive, and caring environment for these vulnerable children. You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing permanent and respite children's health and wellbeing, as well as planning and implementing care to provide early intervention for health concerns.

You will be committed to providing high-quality care to enable our children to experience an optimum quality of life. You will also be required to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, problem-solving and a strong commitment to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma related to the position assignment and one (1) year of related experience. Must be a regulated member of the appropriate college if required by the Health Professions Act. Must have one (1) year work experience as RN within Canada

Assets: 
•    Experience working with dependent persons with disabilities. 
•    Experience in pediatric, G & J tube  and tracheostomy care, ventilators, CPAP, BIPAP, Suctioning, cared for organ transplants, experience dealing with metabolic syndrome, NG tubes etc. 
•    Recent (within the last 6 months) nursing experience in a hospital/healthcare setting

Notes

•    Hours of work are 38.75 hours weekly
•    Must be currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and have clearly stated this within your cover letter and resume. 
•    Current certification in CPR. 
•    Must be  able to do shift rotation, including weekends and holidays.  
•    Two (2) Casual Wage positions to be filled. Location: Rosecrest Home, Edmonton, AB
•    Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. A current work visa is required.
•    Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate.
