Role Responsibilities
The Ministry of Justice has an exciting opportunity as a Modernization Coordinator within the Modernization, IMT and Research branch!
As a Modernization Coordinator, you will lead major digital modernization and justice transformation projects that shape how services are delivered across the ministry. You’ll guide complex, multi‑year initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring they stay on track, on budget, and aligned with strategic priorities. You’ll use your judgment and communication skills to know when issues need escalation and how to provide senior leaders with clear, well‑reasoned recommendations.
In this role, you will manage multiple high‑profile modernization initiatives at once, balancing timelines, risks, resources, and stakeholder needs. You’ll adapt project management methods to fit different project types, track financials and forecasts, and produce accurate reporting for executives and governance bodies.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening project management practices across the Modernization, IMT & Research (MIR) branch. You’ll refine methodologies, templates, and processes, maintain shared tools and resources, and support continuous improvement. You’ll mentor colleagues and help build a more mature and consistent approach to modernization work across the ministry.
Additionally, you will contribute to portfolio planning and project intake, helping assess opportunities, evaluate readiness, identify risks, and recommend prioritization. Your insights will shape how modernization initiatives are sequenced and approved.
Success in this role relies on your ability to build strong relationships across a diverse network—including courts, program areas, technology teams, vendors, and cross‑ministry partners. You will facilitate alignment, navigate sensitivities, support effective decision‑making, and ensure partners remain engaged and informed throughout each project.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, we encourage you to apply and join our team!
