Role Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead the delivery and development of the Victim Assistance Program (VAP). This role provides strategic oversight to a team of 10 staff, including two supervisors, and plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, client-centered services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Caseworker and Program Support teams.
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of VAP services.
- Ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, and Government of Alberta (GoA) requirements.
- Address complex client issues and support staff in decision-making beyond frontline scope.
- Collaborate with legal, policy, and ministry stakeholders to support program integrity.
- Prepare briefing notes and respond to action requests in a timely manner.
- Support data collection and performance measurement initiatives.
- Ensure staff are well-trained and aligned with legislative and policy best practices.

Qualifications
Required:
- A university degree (4 years) in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science or Social Sciences with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
Equivalency:
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
Assets:
- Proven leadership experience in program or operations management.
- Strong understanding of victim services, social services, or related fields.
- Experience working with government or multi-stakeholder environments is an asset.
- Knowledge of various provincial privacy and legislative requirements
