Join Court Technology Services (CTS) and play a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction, governance framework, and long-term vision that supports Alberta’s courts and justice system.

Court Technology Services (CTS) delivers technology solutions to Alberta Courts and facilitates the Courts' approach to Information Management Technology (IMT) governance, decision-making and service delivery. This broad lens facilitates enhanced collaboration and day-to-day support to ensure effective and efficient IMT service delivery across the Alberta Courts to provide better services to the Courts, the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice stakeholders and Albertans. 

Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Governance, you will facilitate the integration of service delivery of the IMT functions across this portfolio, including but not limited to strategy planning and governance, portfolio investment and management, business relationship management, and communications, especially as the organization and the technology evolves.

You will focus on initiating and maintaining effective working relations and partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders to integrate IMT operations across the branch.

You will provide leadership and direction of staff and resources for the Strategy and Governance team that are responsible for executing on the following:

  • Responsible for IMT planning and reporting for Court Technology Services.
  • Responsible for partnering with clients to ensure that strategic IMT initiatives are based on solid business cases and projects are managed for desired outcomes.
  • Responsible for overseeing complex business process design and staff participation in consultation sessions in accordance with IMT frameworks, providing extensive business knowledge, business process expertise, and system knowledge.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of IMT frameworks for Governance, IMT Controls. 
  • Quality Management, Business Process Reviews, Risk Management, and Investment Management.
  • Support the Director of Strategy, Governance, and Enablement to accomplish the mandate of the Strategy and Governance team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A university degree in Information Technology, business, or a related field supplemented by a minimum of four years related work experience.
    e.g. Business, Information Technology, Finance, Procurement, etc.

Assets & Preference:

  • A strong working knowledge of industry best practices associated with IMT governance and strategic planning.
  • Project Management & Progressive management experience and adaptive to political environment.
  • Working experience with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working experience in making presentations and preparing written materials/briefing for executive leadership.

Equivalency Considered:

  • One year of experience for one year of education OR
  • One year of education for one year of experience.

Notes

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours / 36.25 hours a week.

This is a full-time Temporary – 12 months position located in Edmonton.
