The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services has significant oversight and involvement in the public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations. The department is responsible for the administration of law enforcement, correctional services, policing and police oversight and public safety. The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime, including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The Ministry also coordinates large scale emergency and disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
The Manager, Security Intelligence Analyst Unit (SIAU), leads an effective team of Analysts who identify and track organized and serious crime activity/trends. As the Manager you will work in collaboration with the Director to set the strategic vision of the unit and advance intelligence analysis for the division as guided by established workplans. To be effective, you will maintain relationships within Correctional Services Division (CSD) and externally to develop strategies to promote safety within centres and the community.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Managing the development of intelligence products for the CSD and its partners to enhance safety and security in correctional centres and in the community.
- Leading the SIAU in the development of products to support enhanced information and decisions within CSD.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships within CSD and externally, to exchange intelligence and develop strategies to promote safety within centres and the community.
- Contributing to the evolution of security intelligence analysis policies and practices within CSD to provide the framework for an effective SIAU.
- Leading strategic approaches to continuously enhance intelligence gathering and analysis in CSD.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in a related field (Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Social Sciences etc.), supplemented by at least four years of progressive, related experience. Related experience includes Security Intelligence, Analytics etc.
Equivalencies:
Directly related experience or education considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel are required for this position.
Assets will be:
• Specialized knowledge of intelligence analysis.
• Knowledge of analytical and research principles and practices with expertise in combining and analyzing multiple data sources to provide comprehensive insights.
• Knowledge of advanced data analytics and visualization tools (SAS, SQL, Power BI, etc.).
• Experience working in correctional and/or criminal justice systems.
• Experience in management roles.

There is one permanent, full-time position available that will be working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
