Role Responsibilities
The Policy, Planning and Analytics Branch within the Housing Division is responsible for planning, performance analysis, and strategic relationships. The branch supports core sets of activities of the division, such as leading intergovernmental relations, providing interpretation of housing program information, and leading planning and reporting requirements with the federal government.
Reporting to the Director, of Intergovernmental and Indigenous Relations (IGR), the Manager is responsible for coordinating, consulting, and providing advice and information on progress and reporting for federal agreements. The Manager will ensure that the province is meeting agreed targets, maximizing available cost match funds, and achieving internal reporting requirements.
The Manager will provide leadership in the following areas:
- Ensuring federal reporting requirements are met in accordance with federal-provincial agreements.
- Operational and strategic planning and reporting.
- Supporting Ministry requirements for the Business Plan and Annual Report in collaboration with other areas of the Ministry/government.
- Lead the planning and implementation of priority initiatives related to intergovernmental partnerships and initiatives.

Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standards:
- University graduation in a related field, such as Public Administration, Public Policy, and Social Sciences, supplemented by four (4) years progressively responsible related experience.
Equivalency:
- Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
Assets:
- Excellent systems and strategic thinking capabilities, with a track record of successfully improving processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven project management skills, with the agility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change, influence outcomes, and achieve results within the government.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mandates and political directions of the Government of Alberta.
