Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics to lead our data-driven strategy and innovation initiatives. This role combines leadership in analytics with cutting-edge expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps). You will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, driving advanced analytics capabilities, and developing and implementing scalable, reliable AI/ML solutions across the organization with a focus on the secure, effective and ethical implementation of AI and ML.

The Manager, reports to the Director, Business Integration and Engagement in Tax and Revenue Administration, and leads transformative AI/ML initiatives in a forward-thinking organization. 
In this role, the Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the BI & Analytics roadmap aligned with the division’s strategic goals.
  • AI & MLOps Enablement: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of AI/ML models in production environments and implement robust MLOps practices for model lifecycle management, monitoring, and governance.
  • Data Architecture & Governance: Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across platforms. Oversee all data and reporting governance supporting the design, development and delivery of timely, accurate, comprehensive and transparent data models and dashboards to provide insights into tax and revenue business performance.
  • Team Development: Mentor and grow a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for AI-driven insights and automation. Establish working relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and government agencies to achieve objectives.
  • Change Management: Leads communication and change management initiatives to foster the use of new AI/ML and business intelligence tools and information products across the division.
  • Technology Innovation: Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks to enhance analytics and AI capabilities.

Qualifications

A university degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering) supplemented by four years related experience in leading AI, MLOps, business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering projects.

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis. 

Additional assets include:

  • Proven expertise in AI/ML model development and deployment, including MLOps frameworks (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow). 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data architectures. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with generative AI and advanced machine learning techniques. 
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks). 
  • Understanding of ethical AI practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading or managing a team in a data/analytics environment.

Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
