Role Responsibilities

As a Learning & Development Consultant (LDC) you will lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs and initiatives. You will report to the Manager of the Provincial Training Team (PTT) and work collaboratively with program leaders and subject-matter experts to develop comprehensive training for SCSS’s more than 4,000 staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead successful training projects and build/maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
- Analyze training needs, make recommendations, develop training, implement training, and evaluate training in support of the training team’s commitment to continuous improvement using the ADDIE model. Use
- Use Articulate and other software to create engaging and effective training courses.
- Deliver training and track training completion statistics using the Alberta Government’s online Learning Management System.
- Collaborate with other PTT team members to achieve SCSS and PTT training goals.
- Lead the ongoing evaluation and improvement of existing training to ensure SCSS training embraces the latest adult education best practices and remains effective, efficient and responsive to staff and program needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible experience related to adult education and training development.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of.
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
The Learning and Development Consultant should have comprehensive knowledge and supporting experience in the following:
- Adult education best practices and training modalities
- Training development and evaluation
- Learning/training development software
- Online learning management systems
- Research, analysis, report writing, leading meetings, and giving presentations
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with other teams
- Project management and working with subject matter experts

Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday
