Role

Do you want to be part of a team that investigates complaints of administrative decisions of Alberta provincial government departments, agencies, boards and commissions; Alberta municipalities; the Patient Concerns Resolution Process of Alberta Health Services; self-regulated health professions proclaimed under the Health Professions Act, and other designated professional authorities? If so, the Alberta Ombudsman’s office may be the right place for you! Our office gives you the opportunity to research and investigate complaints raised by Albertans.

Reporting to an Investigations Manager, you will be involved in the office’s intake process, complaint analysis, and the early resolution process. You will also assist with investigations and/or conduct less complex investigations.  A focus on building positive relationships as you work with various departments is crucial for this role.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field is required; or a related two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and two years related experience; or a related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and three years related experience.

To be successful, the candidate will require the ability to think critically and participate in a team environment. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills are essential. The ability to research and analyze policy and legislation is important and experience handling highly sensitive and confidential information is considered an asset for this position.

Salary

$2,065.62 – $3,060.68 Bi-Weekly

$53,913 – $79,884 Yearly

Requirements
