The Data & Content Management (DCM) division within the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (TI) is accountable for the Government of Alberta Data Strategy; enterprise-wide content management advice and services including data, information and records services; and the government’s internal artificial intelligence program including robotic process automation.

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a branch within the DCM Division of the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (T&I), which supports Alberta’s economic growth and diversification through innovation and technology.

Role Responsibilities

The ECM branch is looking for an Information Management (IM) Analyst. Reporting to the Team Lead, File Management and System Support Senior Lead, Project Services, the IM Analyst is a member of a professional team that works closely with a variety of clients/stakeholders to develop various strategies and processes while troubleshooting and mitigating risks with a focus on enhancing file management services, compliance and assisting in the transition from paper records to electronic information management.

 

The IM Analyst ensures the delivery of quality information management services and products by providing strategic support, guidance and expertise to enhance the strategic value of department records and information while minimizing risks and improving information management practices.  Ensures project alignment with corporate priorities by building relationships with business partners; and participating in the design, planning and implementation of ECM solutions.  Perform comprehensive work process analysis to understand the unique retention and record compliance requirements; drafting policies, procedures and guidelines.

 

In addition, the IM Analyst provides consultation and coaching support to Department staff and contractors/secondments. Including training; implementation and enhancement of Information Management (IM) and ECM solutions; digitization of products and services; and records disposition instructions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information management services.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 1-year post-secondary certificate in a related field (e.g., Information and Records Management), supplemented by two (2) years of progressively related experience with information and/or records management.
  • Experience with records retention and disposition schedules, records databases, and Microsoft Office software programs, including project management.
  • Must be able to lift boxes weighing approximately 30 lbs.

 

Equivalencies:

  • A related two-year diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience; or
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in lieu of formal education.

 

Assets:

  • Experience with work process analysis.
  • CAPM – Certified Associate in Project Management.

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday
