Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Information Management (IM) Program Manager, as an Information Analyst, you’ll be on the front line of helping departments solve their toughest information management (IM) challenges. You won’t just be analyzing data or writing reports — you’ll be working directly with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering practical solutions that make a difference in how government does its work.
Every day will look a little different. Some days you’ll help a department team streamline their content management processes with Microsoft 365 tools; other days, you’ll advise on how to reduce IM risks in a new technology project or explore how AI could be applied to improve services. What remains the same is the impact: clients value the support you provide, and you’ll see the results of your work immediately.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Partner directly with colleagues and clients across departments to understand their IM challenges and deliver practical solutions.
- Use tools like M365, collaboration platforms, and emerging AI solutions to improve business processes and reduce risks.
- Review projects and initiatives to identify IM risks and recommend clear, client-centered strategies.
- Support the rollout of new tools, processes, and best practices that strengthen IM across government.
- Research and test opportunities to apply AI as a practical tool to enhance IM services.
- Ensure solutions align with legislation, policy, and standards while still being effective and easy for clients to adopt.
Why this role matters:
- You make an impact: Clients notice and appreciate the work you do.
- You embrace variety: Every department has unique challenges, so no two days are alike.
- You put technology into action: From M365 to AI, you’ll use modern tools to help people work smarter.
- You are part of the bigger picture: Your work supports government-wide improvements in information management.
To be successful in this role, you will use your understanding of locating and interpreting legislation and policy instruments and available solutions to assist your clients. You will review solutions to ensure they are client-focused, AI-driven, and effective in meeting both the client’s requirements and are compliant with existing policy instruments. This will ensure that GoA clients understand and minimize IM risks and leverage information to its fullest potential, while supporting the enablement of modernized AI processes.
The position functions within the parameters of the GoA IM Program and applicable strategic plans, legislation, regulations, policies, standards, directives, and procedures.
