This competition will be used to fill current and future vacancies for temporary and permanent Human Resource Business Partner (Human Relations 2) positions. 

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you will focus on supporting implementation and maintenance of workforce initiatives, people management, job design, and organizational structure reviews. As the Human Resource Business Partner for an assigned client portfolio, you will use your expertise to support a diverse group of clients. 

 

Effectiveness in this role will be rooted in your ability to manage complex employee relations issues with professionalism. You bring a solid foundation in performance management and collective agreement interpretation. Additionally, you’ll provide consultation in talent acquisition, job evaluation, organizational design, HR analytics, and broader organizational effectiveness.


Your strong analytical thinking, sound decision-making and proven project management skills, will be key in achieving high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment. This role also requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strategic focus. Exceptional interpersonal and consultative skills will help you build trust and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area.  A minimum of two years of directly related human resources experience.

 

Related experience may include:
•    Providing strategic or operational HR support to leaders or client groups.
•    Interpreting and applying HR policies, collective agreements, or employment legislation.
•    Supporting or leading employee and labour relations matters such as investigations, discipline, or performance management.
•    Delivering HR services in areas such as job evaluation, organizational design, workforce planning, or talent acquisition.
•    Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to implement HR initiatives or resolve complex workplace issues.

 

The following knowledge and experiences will be considered as assets:
•    Proven background in employee and labour relations within a unionized environment.
•    Experience delivering human resources support within a large private sector or government organization.
•    Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting HR programs and initiatives aimed at improving organizational performance and effectiveness. This includes conducting needs assessments and analyzing HR data and metrics to inform decision-making.


Equivalencies will be accepted based on a related two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and a minimum of four years of directly related human resources experience; or a related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and a minimum of five years of directly related human resources experience.
